Palm oil is a kind of plant oil made from tropical woody plant-Palm. It is one of the largest produced, consumed and traded oils in the world, which is called The World’s Three Major Vegetable Oils together with soybean oil and rapeseed oil. Palm oil after pressing, refining and fractionation can get different melting point products, which are widely used in catering industry, food industry and oil & fat industry. As the main production areas of palm oil, Southeast Asia and Africa produces about 88% of the world's palm oil, while Indonesia, Malaysia and Nigeria are the world's top three palm oil producers. At present, China has become the world's largest palm oil importer, whose palm oil consumption is about 6 million tons per year, accounting for 20% of the total world market.

The production of palm oil can be divided into 2 processes: palm oil extraction process and palm oil refining process
Palm oil extraction technology:
The extraction of crude palm oil involves a series of processes starting with harvesting fresh fruit bunches from the plantations and ending with crude palm oil storage. Through sterilizing, threshing, digesting and pressing, crude palm oil will be pressed out in palm oil pressing machine (screw oil press). Each station of palm oil extraction machine uses different methods and machines. Browse through the details of palm oil extraction process in the following:

Palm oil extraction machine (with capacity 30-120tph)

The process of palm oil extraction has 6 steps:

Station Name :	Application
1,Palm fruit reception station	harvest the palm fruit from the oil palm plantation
2, Palm fruit sterilization station	use water or steam for palm fruit sterilization
3,Palm fruit threshing station	separate the palm fruit from the bunches by rotation or vibration
4, Palm oil digesting & pressing station	crush the palm fruit and extract palm oil out
5, Crude palm oil clarification station	remove foreign impurities from the final palm oil to get the crude palm oil
6,Palm oil storage	the final crude palm oil will be stored in specialized tank for further selling or transportation

Types of palm oil extraction machine:
1,300-500kg/h palm oil press machine, 1tph double screw palm oil presser, 2tph double screw palm oil presser;
2,1-5tph new technology palm oil making machine ;
3, 5-120tph palm oil mill plant ;

Palm oil refining technology:
Palm oil refining machine is to get rid of the harmful impurities and needless substances in the crude palm oil, aims at improving the oil storage stability, flavor and color. There are mainly four steps of palm oil refinery machine: degumming, deacidification, decolorization, and deodorization .The palm oil refining machine can be used to process other oil seeds of different capacities as well.

Batch type palm oil refining machine

Types of palm oil refining machine:
1.Batch type palm oil refining machine,suitable for small capacity like 1-2-3-5-10TPD
2.Semi-continuous palm oil refining machine,suitable for medium capacity like 10-50TPD
3.Full continuous palm oil refining machine,suitable for large capacity above 30TPD

The process of palm oil refining has 4 steps:

Refining process	Application
1, Degumming process	adding the water (there is a little P-acid in water) to remove the gum.
2, Deacidification process	using alkali like (NaOH) to neutralize FFA in crude palm oil
3, Decolorization process	use the white clay to absorb the pigment away, then using vibrating filter to separate the waste clay
4, Deodorization process	use the direct steam to take out bad smells
